How to set up SmartHide VPN for iPhone/iPad?

  1. Go to http://www.smarthide.com/members/ and enter your SmartHide login and password;
  2. Find the area "SmartHide VPN for iOS and Android" and save the desired domain name or IP address (in case if the domain smarthide.com is blocked by your ISP);
  3. Switch on iPhone and choose "Settings" on the home screen;
  4. Choose "General"; 
  5. Choose "Network";
  6. Choose "VPN";
  7. Choose "Add VPN Configuration...";
  8. Choose PPTP and fill in the fields as it is described except for the field "Server" (you should input domain name or IP address that you saved on 2 step), Account (SmartHide account login name) and Password (SmartHide account password);
  9. Press "Save" and try to connect.
IMPORTANT!!! You can face an error in iOS 4 which does not allow to connect to the server for the first time. You have to try to connect to the server at least several times before successful connection.

Dear Ryoshi,

If you will register SmartHide, you will be able to connect to EUR or USA IP, depends on the subscription. You need to manually input required IP as described in the instruction

Hi There,
when i try to turn vpn on its says, conect, starting, but then iphone tells me it has disconnected!! help!

Dear Charlotte Cleveley,

If you have iOS4, try to connect several times as there is a bug in iOS4. In iOS5 this bug is fixed. Please create a ticket if you have iOS5.
